Assembled for an evening of merriment and nostalgia around the piano, Mary Charlotte and her constant companion Edward are celebrating their impending return to the stage and hope to tempt their old friend Martin into footing the bill. Despite their best efforts, Martin and his checkbook are egregiously absent, Nora is characteristically tardy, and Pascal is requiring an uncommon level of attention. Our hosts manage to keep the seams together, but when a surprise visitor from the past and her new companion join the mix, no amount of gin can mitigate what Mary Charlotte will remember as the worst night of her life.
