CENTERstage Productions presents Hamlet by William Shakespeare as part of the 17th Annual Sam Scripps Shakespeare Festival. Adapted and directed by Lou Trapani.
Shakespeare’s iconic work in a new adaptation by director Lou Trapani. Not your Elizabethan revenge tragedy, nor any of the modern theatre’s/contemporary cinema’s brooding hero plays or avenging angel action flicks or orphan/prince psycho-dramas, this Hamlet is about families and their angsts in 2024 America. Fast and intense with an off-beat cast in modern dress, with a bare set and a handful of sound and lighting effects.
Starring Yurble Kiewra as Hamlet, featuring Katie-Beth Anspach, Russ Austin, Jessica Boyd, Michael Brunetti, Madison Cannella, Cora Colwell, Emily DePew, Rik Lopes, Harrison Mark, Ben Parish, Jeremy Ratel, Brigid Slattery, and Elaine Young.
